Modern Southwest Guest Room Tour
When we first moved in to our new house, we hit the ground running with our renovations. First up on the list was replacing all of the flooring (more on that here), a fresh coat of paint on all the walls and most importantly, getting our guest room ready for guests.
This is actually the first time we’ve had a proper guest room in our house. We apologize to those who had to sleep on our couch or blow up mattress, you know who you are. :) We feel very lucky to now have a space for our favorite people to stay when they come to visit.
I had a lot of fun designing this room. Of course it had to be cozy but I also wanted it to have a modern southwest feel. We incorporated artwork from local artists and bought what we could from local small businesses.
I wanted to include this console table with the stools and it has been such a useful piece to have in the guest room. It’s great for getting work done on your laptop or the perfect vanity when getting ready. Any furniture that can be used in multiple ways is a win for me.
My goal was to make it as functional as possible for guests and once the door is closed, it does feel like a nice little getaway. I can say this from personal experience as this is where we’re staying during our master bath renovation, I could stay here a while. :)
You can also see our guest bathroom transformation here, as well as a list of things I like to stock it with before guests arrive. This whole room was a huge change and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. How do you make your guests feel special?
Best,
