Modern Family Kitchen Tour

This has to be my favorite part of the house. The natural light and open flow are what really make it for me. It’s also the command center of the house where meals are made, good music is played, homework is done and artwork is created. It’s a bustling spot for sure.

Take a look around.

Never stays this clean.

Fun Fact: We bought those barstools when we lived in our previous home. Upon seeing this house for the first time, we realized that the paint color on the island is an exact match! Barstools are from Ballard here.

Open shelves for all the pretty things. Just please don’t look in my junk drawer. :)

Modern Kitchen Open Shelving Styling

I updated the backsplash grout from white to black really easily after we moved in. It really helped give a little more contrast with all the white going on. It’s a great, super easy and very affordable change that makes a huge difference. More on that here.

We’ve got some handy toy storage…

And a little room to play.

Modern Family Kitchen Bench and Open Shelving Styling

We used to have the Kids Kitchen in a Kitchen where the long bench is now. It has evolved into this setup which is perfect right now. That is an outdoor bench which makes it great for the kids to play on and can’t be destroyed by food and markers. This bench actually started out over in the dining room and eventually got the boot.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this peek into our kitchen. Now to keep it this clean. Ha! Check out the dining room here.

Best,
